Te Reo Maori

                                                                Whainga paetae - The student can learn the correct kupu/words for the bathroom in te reo māori.



Heketua - toilet
Wharepaku - room with a seperate toilet (not the actual toilet)
Hīrere - shower
Tāpu - bath
Whēru - toilet paper
Whakaata - mirror
Tauera - towel
Kōrere wai - tap/faucet
Puoto - sink/basin
Hopi - soap






Some sentences using these kupu…


  1. Tītiro ki te whakaata = Look at the mirror.
  2. Tukua te wai = Flush the toilet(or flush with water)
  3. Horoia ō ringaringa = Wash your hands.
Extra activity - Make a simple sign to put up in your bathroom
(if your parents allow you to)
using numbers 2 or 3. You can use just the māori or have both māori and english.
